Youtube Partnership programme – can I actually make money from Google ads?
One of my videos on Youtube has had over 18,000 views and Youtube sent me an email today stating I am “eligible to apply for the YouTube Partnership Programme, which allows you to make money from playbacks of your video” basically they put advertisements alongside your video.
I have to register for Google Adsense to receive payments but they don’t actually tell me how much I get paid for each new “view” I guess that is further along in the tutorial but I am wary of signing up for this Adsense account if I receive say 1 cent per view and have to wait until I’ve had 5,000 more views that will take years.
Anyone got any experience of this and is it genuine or a bit of a con? Am I signing the rights to my video away?
I have 72 videos on at present. So the ad actually has to be clicked before I get any money? Not just if someone watches my video. That sucks because I never click the ads and I don’t suppose anyone else does either?
I got one of those emails today as well i look at the email address that sent it and it looks genuine alright
this is the address – From YouTube (no_r...@youtube.com) so thats some proof.
Edit: What they will do is place ads on your videos.
